Motherhood

After about a five month break I am back! Of course I have not ever been able to devote all my time to this little creative outlet I created, Artistry Movement, but now being a mother I feel I have no time to create new things. I know this is not completely true, but that is how it feels. Everyday I take photos of my beautiful baby girl with my iPhone while my DSLR camera is being very neglected. I am now aware that time flies... she is already 4 1/2 months. :(

So, what is next for AM? During the day I work full-time for a landscaping company and at night I soak up as much as I can of my little one and my hubby. For now, I will be focusing most of my energy on my family...so most of my photography will be of little miss Bailey. I have however taken on a handful of photo shoots for close friends, so stay tuned for those.

Here is a catch up of what I have done since May... :)

(this is shot from my husbands phone the first night in the hospital, May 5th 2012)

 Bailey Ashley ~ 3 weeks

 Total daddy's girl... :)

4 1/2 months and such a happy baby girl!

Blue eyed beauty

These last two images were taken just last weekend. Everyday she changes. Being a mommy has changed me...filled me with so much joy and love. Seeing peices of you reflected in another little soul is amazing!!!

Until next time...peace & love!

Custom Ribbon Mobile

This past weekend we spent the majority of our time prepping our home for the arrival of our little one. Some last minute shopping took place in which we purchased all the remaining loose end things like butt paste and bottles. I feel slightly more prepared now going into this next week realizing that I could pop at any moment. The nursery is more like what I have been envisioning but there are still a couple items to hang. I will share nursery pictures by the end of this week (If I don't go into labor). One thing that did get hung that I wanted to share is a whimsical ribbon mobile that I made especially for Bailey's nursery. I picked out the ribbons and hand stitched them onto a wooden circular object that I found at a craft store. I hung the ribbon mobile over Bailey's crib underneath a canopy I made out of a fabric I love. Very girly and it turned out exactly as I wanted.

Maternity

Today I picked up my camera for the first time in months and it felt wonderful! I have not had time to take on any new projects and I have started to have withdrawals....photography withdrawals if there is such a thing. A friend of mine named Christina is about 6 months pregnant and I knew I could not pass up the opportunity to take her maternity pictures! Even though I am literally about to pop (less than 3 weeks to go!) and maneuvering like I usually do on a shoot is a bit challenging, but I did it! We spent this evening trampling through the woods... two preggo mamas just playing around...at least that is what it felt like. So much fun! I can't wait to share her session! Stay tuned... :)

Ribbons & Pearls...we are having a girl!

This last week has been a whirlwind! Last weekend we were surrounded by about 60 of our closest friends and family to celebrate the coming of Miss Bailey Ashley Albright. The turn out of our first baby shower was so large I had flashbacks of our wedding back in September. My mother and Sister were rock stars putting together such a fabulous event. Usually baby showers consist of women, light finger foods and little games...not this baby shower! We had the men join us with wine, beer and burgers! My favorite part of the vast array of yummy food...the CUPCAKES!! It was a fun afternoon of great food, great people and a truck load of PINK gifts...which I am still trying to figure out how everything is going to fit in our sweet little ranch house. We felt extremely blessed and surrounded by love!!!

Coming soon...pictures of the nursery!!!!

Revamped Chairs

I have mentioned in a previous post that we are remodeling our kitchen and have been for awhile now. It is almost to the point where I can share it. But, for now I will show the re-upholstery project I did on the kitchen chairs. I bought a fabric I loved, pulled out the staple gun and went after it. They look way better than I imagined and the light blue and brown colors work perfectly with the new kitchen colors.

Senior Photography

I was asked to do my very first senior portraits!! Excited was too calm a word to describe my enthusiasm! Up until now all I have worked with are children, which I love. Seniors are a whole new dynamic. Instead of chasing a tiny person around with my camera I had a subject that stood there and actually took directions. Very different in a good way. Kaden is a senior at Edmond North high school and will be graduating in a month or so. He was a gem to capture. Loved every minute of this shoot.

Hudsons

I love kids!! So full of energy and imagination. The Hudson's are three spirited kiddos that I had the pleasure of chasing around with my camera a few months ago back in December. As I am playing catch up, I am finally getting around to sharing some of the images I captured that beautiful day. These little ones were magic!
